Creative writing is a class that art teacher Ms. Brandi Kruse offered during the second semester this year. In her creative writing class, students are able to write about different things and occasionally get to do projects. For example, doing collages and chalk spray paint art where students had to choose one word that described their feeling at that moment and would have to carve it out.
After coming back from spring break, Ms. Kruse planned to work with the kindergarten teachers from Hogan Cedars Elementary School, so that the creative writing class would make something and show it to the little kids. The elementary kids made drawings and the class would have to make a story out of the drawings. The creative writing class had to choose four different drawings from each kindergarten class. The students can create anything like a book, a puppet show, or any other imaginative way to tell their story.
Catrina Therien said, “ I am going to create a little booklet like a zine using the characters. It is really fun trying to make a book to see the kids happy and seeing their characters come to life.” Jacob Gallian said, “ My favorite part so far has been figuring out what I am going to do with the characters not knowing what it is.”
After the class is done doing their story, they will be going to Hogan Cedars and presenting the children their story.
