ProJared is a very well known meme at the moment. He was actually the top retweet for two days meaning the subject of ProJared was the most popular retweet for two days (which is something hard to do), but it wasn't for anything nice. The only reason he got so popular is because people made him funny, laughing at him because of the horrible thing he had done. It has actually become popular to hate him because of a cheating scandal.
It turns out that ProJared (real name Jared Knabenbauer) had been cheating on his wife Heidi O'Ferrall with YouTuber Holly Conrad. Now, this alone would be enough to hate the guy but it gets worse - there have been multiple accusations of how he used to have these “body positive” tumblr pages where he would convince his fans to send explicit photos, and he would send them as well. It turns out most of those fans were actually under age.
The reason this so important to the YouTube community is because he was a popular gamer and he represented a lot, and now that this has come out, it has not only ruined his reputation but has written a bad name for gamers as a whole. And not to mention his colleagues on YouTube who believed his lies until the very end because they thought he was someone they could trust. They were terribly wrong, and this is why this one of the biggest YouTuber scandals to date.
