Major drama happened between YouTube makeup influencers James Charles/ and Tati a few weeks ago. Some are definitely over the drama and want to move on from the topic, I know I do, but here we are.

It all started a few weeks ago when Tati uploaded a video to YouTube titled ¨BYE SISTER¨ accusing James Charles of being very egotistical, predatory, and manipulative as a person off camera. James Charles is a beauty influencer on the platform YouTube. His career took off in mid 2016. He’s had many previous scandals such as being transphobic and racist. When Tati uploaded her video James was in Australia for his first pop-up store opening.

In Tati’s video she said multiple times how James would make straight boys feel very uncomfortable. For instance, James and Jeffree Star flew to Seattle to surprise Tati for her birthday earlier this year. Tati said that James, when flirting with a straight waiter, told Tati “...it doesn’t matter. I’m a celebrity.” When Tati told him that the waiter was in fact straight. About 10 hours after Tati’s upload James came out with a video titled “tati” where he “apologized” and told his mother that she’s “the most important person in my life. I don’t know what I would do without you.” They then both took a break from social media. Until Jeffree Star broke the internet.

Jeffree Star, owner of Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Killer Merch (which coincidentally is the merch company James Charles signed with for “Sisters Apparel”), and a few smaller businesse, is an entrepreneur but also a drama exploiter. He began tweeting subtweets towards James, and even tweeting James’ little brother Ian. Ian innocently tweeted "Why does everyone act so tough over the internet?" when Jeffree started tweeting about James. Jeffree quote tweeted Ian´s tweet and said "Why is your brother a predator?? Why´d you really move back to NYC? Exactly. Shut the f**k up.¨ Jeffree later apologized and deleted the tweets and that he doesn’t want to become his past self again when he uploaded his video ¨Never Doing This Again.¨ The racist, predatory, and overall aggressive past of Jeffree Star.

James did clap back by uploading a video titled ¨No More Lies¨ where he brings up receipts of Jeffree texting him very inappropriate and vulgar messages about how he is a predator to all males and a bunch more rude messages about how his friends would ¨expose¨ him too. One being popular YouTube personality Grayson Dolan. James, Grayson, Ethan (Grayson´s twin brother, hence the Dolan Twins), and other popular YouTuber Emma Chamberlain formed a group in mid June of 2018 called the ¨Sister Squad.¨ In some of their videos you can tell Grayson is very uncomfortable. Some fans have even made compilations about the obvious uncomfortable tension. The twins, and Emma have since dropped James since Coachella in early April and are now known as ¨The Holy Trinity¨ by the Dolan´s and Chamberlain´s fans. James later stated that the Twins were the first people to call and ask if he was okay, some fans are still skeptical. The Twins and Chamberlain have not said anything publicly about the situation.

Tati uploaded a video titled ¨Why I Did It¨ after the whole thing blew up and stated over and over again that she ¨never meant for this to happen¨ and has since deleted ¨BYE SISTER¨ and ¨Why I Did It.¨ The ex-trio has since publicly said that they are all over the situation and want to continue on with their careers. Tati has uploaded three videos since, Jeffree is coming out with his own version of lip gloss called ¨The Gloss¨ at JSC, and James has yet to upload on Youtube since.
